Vishal Thanki

Bsc (Hons) McOptom FBDO CL

Is our Resident Optometrist. He undertook his professional training in the community and hospital practice. He specialises in contact lens fitting and dry eye. Vishal has undertaken further training in glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and acute eye diseases.

With over 15 years experience, Vishal understands the importance of taking the time to listen to the concerns of patients and ensuring that they are fully addressed during the consultation. Vishal is especially passionate about eyecare for children and works closely with local charities. Via his sporting nature he successfully completed the London Marathon and raised a significant amount of money for 'Sense', a charity for the blind.

Bhavik Acharya 

Bsc (Hons) McOptom MASv.P

Bhavik Acharya completed his university training at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Bhavik has been in the community care for over 10 years. During that time he has developed a keen passion for children's eye care and now is a regional School Vision practitioner. He specialises in reading and behavioural difficulties and has training in muscle control, colour overlays and colorimetry. His other interests include multi-focal, complex and therapeutic lens fittings. Bhavik has also spent time performing eye care in Africa and has been to and headed charity camps in Malawi several times over the years.

Karen Cicale

Karen joined the Potters Bar team in 2003. She is a qualified optical assistant and is queen of repairs! In her spare time she manages to run our front desk. Karen will often be your first point of contact and is very happy to help. She lives locally with her family and provides a vital role within the practice. In her spare time Karen loves country walks on those fresh winters days with her dog.

 

Anneka Dem

Anneka has been in Optics since 2015. She is a bright, bubbly person and an excellent organiser. Anneka also loves helping people. She has a degree in Fine Art Painting which helps when assisting you in choosing the right fun and creative spectacles! She always makes certain that you are well informed and look great as well as being comfortable with your choice. In her spare time Anneka enjoys ballet and presenting her art work.
