Our optometrist Vishal is a specialist in contact lenses and is a member of the British Contact Lens Association. He will guide you through a thorough assessment, discussing your lifestyle and requirements to help you decide which type of lenses are best suited to you. You’ll also need an up-to-date prescription, so we’ll arrange an eye exam if required.
We find that children get on well with contact lenses and they give more freedom for playing and sporting activities. Many youngsters prefer them to glasses and find they have more self-confidence when wearing them. You can bring your child for a contact lens consultation from age 8.
Even if you have been told in the past that you can’t use contacts, or if you have tried and not got on with them, we encourage you to try again. Advances in technology mean there are now lenses to suit even complex prescriptions, and options include varifocal, astigmatism, and specialist lenses.
If you're new to wearing contact lenses, our optometrist will guide you through the process of inserting and removing them, ensuring you feel confident and comfortable before you try them on your own at home. Additionally, you'll receive detailed instructions on how to care for your lenses, including important things to avoid, such as swimming, and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
As an independent opticians, we can source contact lenses from any brand, so we can always provide the best lenses to suit your situation. Types of lenses we can fit include:
We also fit ortho-k contact lenses. These are worn overnight when they work to gently correct short-sightedness, meaning you don’t need to wear glasses or contacts during the day.
